PhD Jakub Sitek was born in Tarnowskie Góry in Poland in 1992. He gained his MSc title at Cranfield University in the United Kingdom in 2016. Then, he worked as an engineer at the Institute of Electronic Materials Technology in Warsaw. In 2018 he started PhD studies at the Faculty of Physics at Warsaw University of Technology, which he finished in October 2022. Jakub successfully defended his PhD thesis, “Impact of the Substrate on the Properties of CVD-Grown Two-Dimensional Materials and Their Heterostructures”. In 2022 he joined Prof. Marek Potemski’s group, where he is responsible for the growth of two-dimensional magnetic materials synthesized by chemical vapor deposition. His focus is aimed at fabricating vanadium-doped MoS2 and WS2 monolayers. He also works at the Faculty of Physics at Warsaw University of Technology.
